The Thurgau Grenadiers want to give children the opportunity to play football and are therefore founding a new U13 Flag Football team, offering children between 8 and 13 years old an ideal introduction to the world of American football.

Flag football is the fast, low-contact version of the sport. The game is played with the ball, plays, and touchdowns just like in traditional football—but without tackles. Instead of bringing an opponent to the ground, players pull a flag attached to the opponent’s belt. This makes the game safe, dynamic, and almost completely free of physical contact, making it perfect for young players. Speed, agility, teamwork, and tactical understanding are at the heart of the game.

Training sessions take place every Friday from 17:30 to 19:00 at the Oberwiesen School in Frauenfeld. No previous experience is required, and a trial practice is possible at any time.

WHO WE ARE
We are bringing American Football back to Thurgau after more than a 20-year absence. We are passionate coaches who love the sport and know that it's not just about X's and O's to have a great team. We are focused on teaching the basics, making practices challenging, yet fun, and building a community within the organization as well as outside in the community. We are looking for big, small, short, tall, stocky, nimble men, women, teens who want to take part in the team and also contribute to the fellowship on and off the field.

We want to have a Senior Men's and Women's Team, a junior Team and Flag teams depending on numbers.
​
The Thurgau Grenadiers will be taking a different approach to the game through cross sport training, support of personal development, and establishing a strong family-like organization. Teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, community, excellence - those are the hallmarks of Thurgau Grenadiers.
